A 40fit containerized Truck loaded with fabric had a brake failure while moving inward Berger and collided with a tanker loaded with 33000 liters of PMS thereby resulting in fire outbreak.

The Lagos State Emergency Mangement Agency said no casualty was recorded but the fire affected the 40ft containerized truck and high tension wire. A stationary truck with registration number KBG 91 XA containing PMS which wasn’t involved in the collision was equally affected by the fire.
The Commissioner of police in Lagos State , CP Hakeem Odumosu, has visited the scene of the incident for assessment and evacuation for ease flow of traffic.
The Police Boss was assited by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian security and civil defence corps, LASMA, NEMA, LASEMA, and the Fire service of Lagos State, who have been working assiduously on the evacuation since 2.30am.
The Lagos State police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Saturday, October 17, said preliminary investigations showed the accident was caused by a container driver who lost control and rammed into a tanker laden with PMS, and caught fire.
He added that no live was lost and all efforts are on to ease traffic along the expressway.
