Abia Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Ossy Prestige Confirmed Dead

Ossy Chinedu Prestige, born 24 January 1965 (age 56 years) was a Nigerian businessman and politician who was serving in the 8th and current House of Representatives. Ossy Prestige was a member of the APGA who served as the House of Representatives Member for Aba North/Aba South Nigeria Federal constituency of Abia State since 2015.

The member representing Aba North/South federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ossy Prestige, has been confirmed dead by his colleagues.

The late lawmaker reportedly died last week after a protracted illness.

He was elected on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

House spokesperson, Benjamin Kalu, confirmed the death in an SMS sent to newsmen.

“He has been confirmed dead by a family member,” he said.

Another source, who is part of the House leadership, also confirmed that the deceased had since last week but the family just confirmed it today.

“Yes, it is true that he has died. It will be announced during plenary tomorrow and the House would adjourn,” the member who doesn’t want his name mentioned said.

Hon. Prestige Ossy was reported sick some six months ago and was flown to a specialist hospital in Europe where he was transferred to after initial treatment in the United Kingdom.
