When we say that the EFCC under Ibrahim Magu is a walking shame, this is what we mean.

Two days ago, being the 20th day of December, 2018, officials of EFCC arrested the men whose photographs appear here with a large volume of cash (dollar) at the Akanu Ibiam International airport, Enugu. When questioned, they presented ID cards and letter of authority issued by Union Bank identifying them as officials of Bankers Warehouse Limited on official CIT movement, something that is legally recognized by the CBN. But rather than try to reach Union Bank which the people claimed own the currency or Bankers Warehouse which they named as their employers, the EFCC under Ibrahim Mugu didn’t do any of these. Instead, they rush to the papers as well as their websites and social media handles to announce that they have intercepted $2.8 millions at the Enugu airport and that the suspects had given useful information to investigators.
If the EFCC weren’t headed by a mentally truncated simpleton with a stunted brain growth, shouldn’t they have first reached out to Union Bank and the Bankers Warehouse Limited before rushing to parade these guys as money launderers???
Indeed, ours is a Kakistocratic system.
The President is perpetually unaware of even his own presidency, the military is headed by men intellectually unfortunate enough to worry more about those peddling “fake” news about the gruesome murder of their ex Defense Chief, Alex Badeh, than finding his killers. And here, you have a so called Anti-graft body more interested in media razzmatazz than it is in carrying out thorough investigation to establish that a financial crime has indeed taken place before rushing to the media to parade innocent people as criminals.
Ours is a broken society presided over by broken men.
