The Federal Government is expected to inaugurate a toll-free Whistleblower Hotline to check corruption in the School Feeding Programme.
The National Social Investment Office and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission are jointly organizing the event.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouk, will launch the hotline at the State House Auditorium, Abuja.
A statement by the Communications Manager of the NSIP, Tienabeso Bibiye, on Monday said the event was part of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring the execution of the social protection program in an open, accountable and transparent manner.
Bibiye said the collaborative effort between the NSIO and ICPC was to further tighten loose ends, effectively check acts that tend to undermine the efforts of the FG to alleviate poverty in the country.
The statement said the NSIO, which coordinates the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, N-POWER and the National Cash Transfer Programme, had worked in accordance with the vision of the Muhammadu Buhari administration by instituting processes and procedures that aim at insulating the NSIP from corrupt practices.
