Prince Tunji Ogunwusi, brother of the Ooni of Ife, and and his company, Prime Waterview Holdings, have been summoned to the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere.

Ogunwusi is wanted for a botched housing scheme facilitated in conjunction with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).

Justice K.O. Dawodu also ordered the following to appear in court: NAWOJ President, Ifeyinwa Omowole; the group’s national treasurer, Tosin Odusola, and the immediate past NUJ chairman, Lagos State Council, Deji Elumoye.

The aforementioned journalists were said to have promoted the mass housing scheme, first for female journalists; later included males; before it was made open to all interested Nigerians.

More than 800 persons reportedly subscribed to the housing scheme which was expected to be carried out by Ogunwusi’s company.

Five years after payments were made; the subscribers are yet to receive their property, prompting a court case.

No less than 26 subscribers are asking the court to compel the company to refund their money.

The respondents are to appear before the judge on April 10 at 2pm “to give reasons for their refusal to submit.”

It was learnt that the matter was initially fixed for March, but the respondents, through their lawyer, pleaded for a change of hearing date till April, promising that their clients would be available.
