Yul Edochie, Nigerian film star and son to Pete Edochie, says he might be considering hitting the pastoral scene.
The 37-year-old Nollywood star took to his Twitter page on Sunday to disclose that he is becoming increasingly convinced that he has a “calling to serve God” and that he’s prepping for “more movements” to come amid so much that is already happening.
“Back home in Lagos. After my acting seminar yesterday, resting, recharging for more movements coming up. So much is happening recently that has left me in awe. Indeed I have a calling to serve God. A pastoral calling,” his tweet read.
Should it happen, Edochie won’t be the first Nigerian celebrity to take up a pastoring career from Nollywood.
Liz Benson, Nollywood actress-turn-evangelist, recently hinted that she now acts only once a while and “doesn’t regret leaving Nollywood.”
“I’ve been around, doing the work of God and still acting once in a while. I don’t regret leaving the movie scene for the pastoral. I feel much more fulfilled being able to answer the call of God because he has equipped me with that which to preach the gospel,” Benson had told Mercy Johnson.
