President Muhammadu Buhari is in a meeting with Governors of the States in the North-East region of the country.
The meeting is taking place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which started at 11:00 GMT has the Governors of Adamawa, Umaru Fintiri, Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, Borno, Professor Babagana Zulum, Gombe, Inuwa Yahaya, Taraba, Darius Ishaku and Yobe, Mai-Mala Buni in attendance.
The Service Chiefs and heads of other security agencies are also attending the crucial meeting, which is expected to dwell on security challenges, especially the boko haram menace troubling the North-East.
The Vice President and Secretary to the Government of Nigeria, SGF are also attending the meeting with North-East Governors.
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu is also attending the meeting.
Governors of the North-East had met at the weekend in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, where the Governor of the State, Babagana Zulum emerged as the Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum.
At the Maiduguri meeting, the Governors had pledged to partner with the Federal government in addressing security challenges, as they also called for the supply of more hardware to the military currently engaging the boko haram terrorists’ group.
