Nollywood actress, producer, and entrepreneur, Toyin Abraham, has diversified into the herbal medicine business by launching Toyin’s Herbal.
Days before, Toyin who revealed that her journey to motherhood was challenging had teased her followers to guess her new project.
But on Wednesday morning, she revealed the venture which she said is a subsidiary of Toyin Abraham Company.
According to her, starting the journey is a goal to empower women suffering from the anxiety that comes with wanting their own children and other diseases.
“Many fear the negative consequences of childlessness resulting from societal pressure,” she wrote on Instagram.
“No less than 1 out of 6 women in Nigeria have experienced the emotional and psychological trauma associated with an inability to conceive after countless trials not to talk of the extremely expensive euro-conventional options. In trying to be like the “Oyinbo” we have forgotten the solutions our ancestors have prepared for us, we have been brainwashed to think less of our methods until it is sold back to us inexpensive capsules with numerous side effects.
“African fertility herbs work, I know this now for a fact. And I am here to make it known to all who have ears and eyes.”
She also shared her motherhood journey, saying she was earlier in doubt when told about herbal remedies.
“My life long desire has always been to become a mother and so far i can say that the experience has been humbling and amazing at the same time.
Many women who like me have the desire of becoming mothers have experienced issues with conception. In my research, I have come to understand that the number is more alarming than you can imagine.
“The other conventional methods of conceiving are very expensive and only a few can actually afford it. When I was first introduced to traditional remedies, I was the biggest skeptic, but after seeing the proofs in other women, I had no choice but to believe, and I am glad I did.”
Since the announcement was made, the actress has been getting congratulatory messages from her colleagues.
