Marriage Vows ‘For Better For Worse’ Is A Curse – Bishop Oyedepo.
The cleric’s alleged statement has sparked a heated debate on social media.
Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith (Winner’s Chapel) church, has reportedly condemned an age-long marital vow exchanged by most Christian couples on the altar.
In a post shared on Facebook by Church Gist, the revered man of God reportedly stated in one his church teachings that ‘for better or worse’ is unscriptural and a curse. His stance on the marital vow which is exchanged by millions of Christians around the world is that it is not in the bible and its meaning reflects a curse that couples unknowingly place on themselves as they walk the marriage path.
Many have found the statement interesting and it has sparked a heated debate on social media. While some agree with the teaching, some have said that life is a plain ground and such statement is not a curse as the bishop has stated.
However, it also stands as an agreement between two people who understand the journey of life is not a smooth one and are mentally preparing themselves to fight against any obstacle that might present itself in the future.
