I know you must have heard of General Murtala Mohammed or probably knew him when he was alive before his assassination.
If you do, you may have been wondering if he had children or a son that should have keep to his political legacy as it seems to be a custom in the Nigerian political community.
General Murtala Mohammed who was married to Ajoke had six children namely; Aisha, Zakari (deceased), Fatima, Abba (also known as Risqua), Zeliha and Jummai.
However, Abba Risqua Muhammed is the only surviving son after his elder brother Zakari demised and seems to be the only one who took over his father political legacy as he was once a Special Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo on Privatisation.
Abba Risqua Mohammed holds a B.Sc. honours degree in finance and banking from the University of Lagos and a post graduate diploma in business administration (Marketing) from the prestigious Cardiff Business School, University of Wales.
He was once contested for federal house of representatives in 2003.
Abba Risqua Mohammed also contested for Governorship primaries on the platform of PDP in 2015 but lost to Malam Salihu Sagir Takai, who he later became a running mate too.
However, as published by Dailypost.ng on 3rd December 2017, Risaqua was said to have retired from politics to build his business.
“The last time I came to contest in Kano, most of the resources I used came from my private pocket; and when I went back to my business, my business was not doing very well; and I thought it is the time for me to concentrate on my business and take a break from politics.”
Abba Risqua Mohammed is the CEO of AMG Petro-Energy Ltd.
