The-33-year-old Jidenna, who was in Nigeria for the Soundcity MVP Awards, was received at the iconic cultural centre by Yeni Kuti, Femi Kuti and Seun Kuti.
Also present were Yeni’s daughter, Rolari and her daughter, Femi’s son, Made, and regular callers at the Shrine built in memory of the late Fela Kuti.
Appreciating his host, Jidenna wrote in an Instagram post on Monday: Give thanks to the Anikulapo Kuti family for inviting us to The New Afrika Shrine. You all are true royalty. ‘Afrobeats’ artists owe tithes and offerings to una. I will forever cherish this night of wisdom, laughter and libations.”
