NURTW: MC Oluomo don hammer.

Reports have it that the union has finally reached an agreement with bike hailing companies such as Oride, Max and Gokada on a uniform amount to be payed in order to have unhindered ‘permission’ to trade in Lagos, arguably Africa’s most populous city.

After months of bickering, the bike-hailing companies finally reached an agreement with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), two of the biggest road transport unions in Nigeria.

Under the new agreement, each rider will pay the NURTW ₦182,500 to operate in Lagos for 365 days.
