Nollywood Actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde alongside her family and other acquaintances have joined other Nigerians in advocating against police brutality and extrajudicial killings.
Specifically, the #EndSARS protest commenced several days after officials of the SARS were reportedly said to be responsible for the death of a young man recently. Equally important, the incident led Nigerians to the streets protesting against police brutality and demanding an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Meanwhile, the mother of four shared pictures of her and family carrying placards in solidarity for the movement; while stating that it is a privilege to be a youth and in the same generation as them.
I and my clan went out!
What a privilege to be a youth and in the same generation as them. Been a long time coming…✊🏾
“#endpolicebrutalityinnigeria.” Omotola wrote.
Also, Nigerian artiste, Timi Dakolo has also stated that this is the appropriate time to make demands from the government.
Further, Timi Dakolo said Nigerian youths may never get an opportunity presented to them like this again. Taking to Twitter to pass his message, the 39-year-old wrote;
This opportunity that has been presented to Us must not be wasted.
I repeat It must not be wasted. We may never have another in this lifetime.
A golden opportunity to level the playground for every Nigerian.
We need thinkers and structure to pull this thing through. Keep your eyes on the goal, please don’t lose focus. We are this together.
It is Our Nigeria.
