Watch Video As Senator Dino Melaye Finally Surrenders To Police.
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, has finally surrendered to the Police after eight-day siege on his Abuja residence.
An Abuja high court had on Thursday, refused an ex-parte application brought by Melaye to order the removal of police blockage on his residence.
The embattled Senator and his colleagues, who came to his residence to show solitary, headed out to the police headquarters as at the time of filing this report.
Police had said Melaye was wanted for a case of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide committed on 19 July, 2018.
Spokesman for the police Jimoh Moshood had alleged that Melaye and “his armed thugs” shot and wounded one Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, who was attached to 37 Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
But the senator has since denied the allegation.
A convoy of the Nigerian Police Force and over 70 police officers have taken Senator Dino Melaye from his house in Maitama to the Police Headquarters.
